Zack Kardon is a registered Civil Engineer in California with over 20 years of experience working with Murphy Burr Curry (MBC) since graduating from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He’s built a strong career within the firm and became a Principal in 2017.
Zack has a strong background in retail tenant improvement and new building design projects, including store renovations for Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Graff, Kit & Ace, and SPiN, as well as over a dozen exercise studio spaces for SoulCycle and multiple projects with Restoration Hardware throughout California. In addition to retail work, Zack has performed seismic evaluations and retrofits for public schools for the San Francisco Unified School District and private schools such as San Francisco Day School and the Chinese American Immersion School. Zack also manages the majority of the firm’s Façade Inspection services in response to the San Francisco ordinance.
An example of projects Zack has worked on includes:
- Design of the new Community and Administration Buildings on the Emeryville Center of Community Life campus for The Emery Unified School District.
- Seismic evaluation and retrofit of residential buildings to satisfy the City of San Francisco Wood Framed Seismic Retrofit Program.
- Tenant improvements for office spaces including Twitter, Koret Foundation, Keker & Van Nest, and the lobby of 50 Fremont.
- Renovations for the Stonestown Family YMCA.
