David Murphy, one of MBC’s Co-Founders, is a registered Civil and Structural Engineer. Since retiring, he now serves as a Senior Consultant with MBC and has been in continuous practice since graduating from Purdue University in 1973.
David has experience with the design and management of a wide variety of building engineering projects, including:
- Significant historically sensitive buildings.
- Innovative high-end retail projects such as Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, and others.
- Evaluation and repairs to structures damaged in earthquakes, fire, and flooding.
- Evaluation, recommendations, and implementation of structural improvements in existing buildings.
- New construction projects for residential and commercial use.
David has also established a significant reputation for innovative and cost-effective seismic retrofit solutions. He is often called upon to review structural designs for value engineering and has recommended alternate designs that have successfully reduced construction costs while providing equivalent structural performance.
