Nick Qian, EIT

Junior Engineer

Nick first got drawn into engineering by a fascination with architecture, designing buildings in video games, then in Sketchup, and then in Revit while earning his Architectural Engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He loves seeing the process of building design play out, as ideas and calculations become something tangible and concrete (or wood, masonry, or steel).

The most rewarding part of engineering for him is the ability to shape communities, whether that be in the form of multi-family housing, public infrastructure, or in less visible ways, such as seismic retrofitting or sustainable environmental design.

Outside of work, Nick loves baking, mixology, horror movies, cheesy romance novels, and board games, but he loves trying new things even more and is always open to recommendations.
