Eric Deaver, S.E.

Project Manager / Senior Structural Engineer

Eric Deaver is a registered California Structural Engineer and a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. He has over 24 years of professional experience working as a structural engineer since graduating from Kansas State University in 1998.

 

Eric has been with Murphy Burr Curry, Inc. (MBC) since 2014 and is currently a Project Manager / Senior Structural Engineer with the firm, where he specializes in structural retrofits. Prior to starting his position at MBC, Eric worked in Houston, Texas, for 14 years, providing structural design and consultation on a wide variety of projects in the Houston area as well as across the United States and the West Coast of Africa.

 

Eric has a strong background in design, seismic evaluation, and retrofit of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures. He has been responsible for the design of the following projects at MBC:

  • Various new school buildings in both the San Mateo-Foster City School District and the Redwood City School District.
  • Numerous seismic retrofits of existing school buildings for both public and private use, including: Claire Lilienthal, Scott Campus, and John Yehall Chin for the San Francisco Unified School District.
  • Seismic retrofits, renovations, and repairs for a number of buildings in San Francisco, including: 1251 Turk, Rosa Parks Housing, 151 10th Street, and 185 Post Street.
  • Tenant improvements for pharmaceutical use in Emeryville.
  • Seismic evaluation and retrofit of residential buildings to Chapter 5E of the California Building Code.
