Chad is a licensed professional engineer with broad experience on commercial, residential, educational, institutional, infrastructure, seismic risk/resilience, and hotel projects throughout the US and abroad. Chad’s diverse professional background ranges from new buildings to retrofits, tall building design to tenant improvements, and prescriptive to performance-based seismic design. Chad has a wealth of experience in seismic performance and resilience, damping systems, and nonlinear numerical simulations of concrete and masonry structures, and he has been published on these subjects. Chad responds to each client's needs, providing individualized services, which can range from preliminary concept design of various options to detailed construction documentation.
Chad joined Murphy Burr Curry as a Senior Project Manager in 2018. He began his career in New York City after graduating with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. During his time in New York, Chad worked on a diverse set of projects, including conversions of old tenement buildings to high end retail, infrastructure projects, and new buildings in South Korea and China. Since he moved to San Francisco in 2015, he has worked on new buildings and seismic retrofits all over the West Coast, with a focus on seismic performance and innovative resilient structural systems.
