Murphy Burr Curry, Inc. provided structural design services for an addition to the university center at the University of San Francisco campus. The addition included a glazed pavilion at the east side of the existing concrete building, to be used as a café. The original structure was modified to allow clear access into the café. Modifications included strengthening seismic lateral system at the east façade with shotcrete walls to resist the increased seismic demand. The pavilion features a structural steel frame with a curved roof and glazed walls.
