The Orchard Garden Hotel is considered San Francisco's first "green" hotel. Murphy Burr Curry, Inc. provided the structural design for the hotel, which meets nationally accepted LEED standards. The ten-story, cast-in-place building made of reinforced concrete features a gravity-load carrying system consisting of flat slabs, columns and bearing walls. It has a shear wall lateral system on a mat slab foundation. MBC also engineered the new entry canopy and sidewalk replacement.
In addition to the superstructure, MBC also provided the engineering for the new entry canopy and sidewalk replacement.
