The Hotel Palomar is a new 175,000-square-foot, 21-story concrete high-rise building. Murphy Burr Curry, Inc. engineered post-tensioned concrete flat slab and columns with infill concrete shear walls. The roof level tops off at 240' and houses the building's mechanical facilities, as well as a 66'x 46' photovoltaic panel. Hotel facilities are interconnected at the lower floors with the adjacent Woolworth Building, which is retrofitted with shotcrete shear walls. The rooftop of the Woolworth building supports a new post-tensioned concrete beam and slab swimming pool and pool deck for the guests of the hotel.
