Murphy Burr Curry, Inc. teamed with DGA Architects on this new 144,000-square-foot office space in Emeryville. The triangular building has four stories of office/laboratory space above two stories of parking, including a basement level. The building, which has potential use as a laboratory, is designed for a Seismic Importance Factor of 1.1. In accordance with the 2007 California Building Code, it is deemed Occupancy Category II. MBC's design takes into account the increased seismic loads and reduced allowable story drifts for the higher occupancy. The building qualifies for LEED gold certification.
